better late than never :)

We celebrated our second anniversary

back in April, and I totally neglected

 to post this picture when I should have.

 

It's been a wonderful two years together,

and I thank God every day for my wonderful, 

handsome hubs.  Doing life with my best

friend is an amazing blessing!

I'm looking forward to many more.

The hubs and I have entered

dangerous territory...

...we've decided that we want a dog!

It used to be that we idly chatted

about it every once in a while.  

These days, Petfinder is one 

of our favorite apps.  :)

We can't make the leap until we 

get a house, but I think it's just 

a matter of time once we get

into a house of our own!

Until then, plenty of cuteness

to tide us over!

Spring is here, and it feels like life is picking up...

like we're coming out of hibernation!

 

We've had lots of chances to hang out

with the hubs' family lately, which is a treat.

We've had some silly fun...playtime with our little niece

and a very relaxed night with our small group.

The longer we look for a house, the more I want 

to get a dog...which is a little dangerous.  :)

Lots of little joys lately too...like pretty fresh flowers 

& frivolous magazines about princesses.  (thanks, babe!)

Life's not perfect, but we certainly have 

plenty to be thankful for!

To put it mildly, it was a snowy weekend.

This is how our yard & street looked 

when we woke up on Saturday...

and it was still snowing!

Before venturing out, we fortified ourselves

with plenty of coffee, bacon & baked

french toast.  Amaaazing!

We spent a long time outside just digging

the cars out...once we located them!

 Then because we're crazy, we went 

for a walk around our neighborhood.  

It was fun to see everyone outside,

but oh man - it was so windy.

Since our hilly little street was still covered, 

we tried to buy sleds, but sadly Walgreens 

didn't have any.  Their snowbanks were 

impressive though - taller than me!

And then the perfect end to a snowy day:

whoopie pies!  Since we did all that shoveling,

it seemed like we had earned it.  :)

Our gallery snagged a last minute booth at BIFAS,

so we had a whirlwind weekend in Boston...

Thanks for being the best partner this girl
could ever ask for.  God sure knew what
He was doing when He gave me you!

It's amazing how you can make the little stuff
so fun.  I love that you give silly names to
 our new furniture and hold my hand when
we're wandering around Home Depot.  

And on days when I'm overwhelmed,
I'm grateful that you help make the big
stuff less scary.  I appreciate how you ask
the hard questions, listen to my endless
over-thinking, and encourage me
to pray with diligence.

evidence free

Labor day weekend was pretty perfect:

full of friends & family, plenty of fun little

 adventures, and so long and luxurious!

But here's the deal...since our trusty
camera is a little sick, we have no pictures
to show for our fun.  Total bummer.  :( 

So instead, here's a recap in words...
just so we have some evidence: 

{ Birthday }

I felt so loved all day on Friday -
calls, texts, dinner & ice cream
 with the hubs - and it was great! 

{ Mini-Mountain }

We took on a local "peak"
on Saturday morning, and enjoyed
pushing ourselves up as quickly
as possible.  (yay cardio!) 

{ Campus & Coffee } 

Our cousin just started at my
alma mater, so we hung out there
on Saturday afternoon.  We also got
delish coffee & wandered through
a random car show that we
happened upon.  Fun!

{ Fair }

We continued our annual tradition
and went to the Hopkington Fair,
which was as good as ever...plenty
of yummy food & lots to see!

{ BBQ }

Sunday afternoon we hung
out with friends and acted like
it's still summer...yard games, lots
of food on the grill, and a bonfire!

{ Hike #2 }

Monday morning we went to
check out another local spot,
and enjoyed a lazy little hike.
No cardio, but still pretty!

{ Apple Picking }

Hubs was craving fresh apples,
so we stopped and picked some
crisp macs and jonamacs on
Monday afternoon.  Very fall!

{ Family }
We wrapped up the weekend
with a relaxed family dinner.  It was
fun visiting with the hubs' parents!

camping!

Since we had so much fun

together on our last camping trip,

we decided to do it again!

 

We snatched up the last 

available site next to the lake, 

set up our giant tent (thanks, 

parentals!), and settled in 

for a couple of nights.

It was nice to relax by the fire

 and enjoy just being together.

 

We listened to baseball on 

the radio, ate plenty of yummy

food, and chatted about life.

 

Oh, and nearly got to know a

skunk - which was quite exciting.

We even got crazy and went hiking.

 

It was a bit muggy for a hike,

and I was wearing flip flops (totally

not appropriate for climbing rocks), 

but it was a fun adventure with 

gorgeous views at the top. 

Totally worth it!

 The hubs gets all the credit 

for getting me to go camping and

making it all so much fun. 

 

Thanks, sweetie.  You're such

 a good sport, and I'm already 

looking forward to our next trip!

 

 

coldplay!

Hello, friends!  We're back 

to normal life this week after

 a really nice week away,

so I thought I'd use this 

week to share pictures

of our fun adventures.
 

First up:  Coldplay at the Garden!

  This was our big birthday 

splurge for this year - a major
concert that fell perfectly
between our birthdays -
and it was incredible!   

Chris Martin is crazy good,
the light show was rediculous,
and it was fun to see one of our
favorite bands together. 

Now we'll just have to 

keep from spending all our

money on more fun concerts :)

almost there...

In a few short hours, 

my week of vacation 

officially starts.

(It does start with a work 

related event, which seems 

a little counter-intuitive, but the

 beach is involved and I get

 to take the hubs along, 

so I'm going with it.)

Although the week before

 vacation is always extra crazy,

 this one has been a marathon.

Poor hubs broke his nose on 

Monday night playing basketball,

so we've been seeing plenty of 

doctors and trying to give his

body a chance to rest. 

God is amazing though, 

and things have worked out 

in incredible ways.  My sweetie

will be totally fine, and I've had

amazing peace & strength to

juggle the craziness at home 

with busyness at work.

But, I've got to tell you...

this girl is ready for a vacation.

vt adventures

Last week I had client meetings

up in VT, and the hubs came along 

so we could make a fun day of it!

The day couldn't have been

more gorgeous for a drive, and

the windy back roads were a

great way to see all the scenery.

After finishing up the work

 portion of the day, we had 

lunch at a local brewery.  I had 

the best panini of my life - 

bacon, apple, cheddar & mustard 

- all grown & made in VT!

And my handsome goofball

took some awesome self 

portraits.  Why not, right?  :)

 We ended the day at

Quechee Gorge, which was

spectacular.  The wooded trail

down to the water was pretty, 

and we had tons of fun climbing 

around the rocks and playing

in the rushing cold water.

Hurray for summertime

& fun adventures together!

{ Pool time }

The giant city pool behind 

our casa is open, so we're 

constantly hopping in & out.

 

 (I've pretty much given up on

putting our suits away...they just

 hang out on the porch ready

for the next little dip!)

{ Grilling }

Nearly every meal revolves

around the grill these days.

 The other night we even

grilled fish - amazing!

 

 

{Day Trips}

Since the hubs is on summer

vacation, we've been taking 

advantage of his flexible

 schedule to sneak extra 

time together.

 

Last week he came with 

me on two work trips, 

which gave us plenty of 

time for adventures!

 

{ Naps }

I'm usually a terrible napper,

but have recently enjoyed some 

quiet afternoon snoozes with 

my sweetie.  Bliss!

{ Ice cream }

We can walk to a local ice

cream shop, so have been using

that as an excuse to take long

meandering walks around

the neighborhood.

Added bonus: we met a sweet 

couple (and their pup) who 

live a couple streets away!
