max wanger

Like everyone else in the world,
I love pretty much everything

Gorgeous photos with loads
of lovely atmosphere and
unique perspectives.

And his shop?
Turning prints into fabulous
graphic tees?
 Come on, now.

Here...the photo print.
Who doesn't love a giraffe
hanging over your shoulder on
your wedding day?

And here...the tee!
Adorable, right?

If you don't regularly,
check out his photos here
You won't be sorry!

sisters are the best

For a silly smile,
go check out sister's
blog post this morning.

It's official - we have way
too much fun together.

the day after...

It's no secret that I'm currently obsessing
over all things wedding related,
but I have to confess that I've been holding
onto these images for much longer than
I've been planning a wedding.

This gorgeous couple
(who got married in Anguilla!)
to do a relaxed, beach shoot of them
on the day after the wedding.
Genius, right?

I love these pictures.
They are beautiful, so happy,
and make me so excited to
get married already!

Go take a peek at the
rest of them here...

so excited

I was thrilled recently when an email
reminder popped into my inbox
telling me that my favorite calendars
are now available for next year.

It seems completely inconceivable
that 2011 is right around the corner,
but since I think since it's going
to be a pretty darn amazing year,
I'm not going to complain about
it coming so fast!

spoiled.

New favorite thing...
laying lazily on the couch
while the boy plays his guitar
and makes up silly songs.

Yes, life is good.

swoon

I'm having a total
fashion lust moment.

I want this suit,
her shoes,
those earrings,
that bag,
that walk...

Ok, I basically want
to be this woman.

Don't lie.
You know you do too.

contentment

It's totally gloomy outside today,
and if we're being honest, I'm pretty
tired from a super long day yesterday.
My inclination is to pour another
big cup of coffee and crawl
back into my warm and cozy bed.

Maybe we're different, you and I,
but I can always find things to be
gloomy about.  It's so easy
to pick out things in my life that
are frustrating, bum me out, or
plain old just annoy me.
Especially on a rainy day.

"But godliness with contentment
is great gain."  (I Timothy 6:6)

I often have to remind myself
that contentment is a choice.
I have absolutely no control over
the events of the day or the people
around me, but I do have the
choice to respond with grace
and contentment.

And I think it's pretty cool that
we have a promise of "grain gain"
when we chase godliness and
contentment.  I don't know
exactly what that means, but
I like how good it sounds!

goodbye earl

I was recently reminded of this
song (thanks momma!)
and had a good laugh this morning
remembering how we used to
watch it and all giggle together.

Hope it makes you smile!

kitchen love

I'm working today
(yes, this is where I'd love
for you to feel sorry for me)
but I think I'd rather be
puttering around a kitchen like
this magnificent beauty.

 Can't you just imagine happily
working away on something
delish, wearing a super cute apron
and dancing to some fun music?

Hope your Saturday is
filled with some fun things!

mr. & mrs.

A little wedding happiness
for your Friday viewing pleasures...

Happy Friday, friends!

accent wall

 I'm a total sucker for a colorful
accent wall.  The more bold or dramatic
the color, the better.

I'm currently totally inspired by
these beauties, found here.

How about you?
Love the rich colors or
avoid them like the plague?

oh fall

I struggle to like fall.

There, I said it.

I know everyone in New England
just loves this season - with it's
cool evenings, crunchy leaves,crisp apples
and generally beautiful things.

I'm such a summer girl,
that it's really hard for me to embrace fall
and all it's glory, but I'm trying.

Last weekend, I noticed the queen anne's lace
on our evening walk with my parents -
and couldn't help but think that it's one of
the most lovely looking dying things you'll ever see.

I think that totally counts as me
learning to love fall, right?

skirt

This past summer, I've been all about
skirts, and have loved having my work style be
so easy (and comfy!) for my favorite of all seasons.

Because when push comes to shove,
no one should even really be working in the
summertime, but that's another whole story.

Anyway, to make a long short short,
I've been pondering how to transition into
fall and drag all my skirts along with me.
And thankgoodness, here's just the
justification I needed!

And please don't neglect noticing
her super fabulous shoes.
Because I'm drooling a little.
Okay, a lot.

flowers?

Love these colors and all those textures!

I find myself obsessively looking at
any flowers I see these days
in the vain hope that I'll start to
figure out what the heck I want for
pretty blooms at the wedding.

I have no problem pulling ideas
together for other parts of our big
celebration, but something about the
flowers is intimidating me to no end...

I think it probably has something
to do with the fact that there are just
so many gorgeous options out there.

Oh the hardships of planning a wedding.
(insert lame-o dramatic sigh here.)
Ha.

 Happy Friday, my friends!

We're heading north this afternoon
for a weekend visit with my folks,
and I'm looking forward to enjoying
some downtime with them.

Hope your weekend is lovely!

fun mail

This arrived in the mail yesterday!

Since it's for the wedding,
I didn't open it by myself yet,
but am SO excited to break
into it tonight when I see my man!

We have some really fun ideas
about how to use this baby,
and I can't wait for the big day
when we'll be using it!

Only 218 days...
not that I'm counting!

truth

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
(Proverbs 3:5-6)

black & white

What is it about pictures
in black & white?

 They just make me happy,
especially when they involve
this handsome man :)

Hope your weekend is great, friends!

completely random

Sorry for the air silence -
it's been a busy week, folks.

Work is more than a little crazy,
the boy & I are adjusting back
into school routines and schedules,
and to top it off, I'm prepping to
teach this weekend at church!

But isn't this sculpture pretty?
It's by Lotus Lien, and yes,
I know, I'm being random.

It's part of our new show,
and I've been enjoying how
elegant & lovely it is.

Well, and lusting over it a little bit.
Don't you think it would look
nice in my house?

This is the hazard of working with art
all day long - you want to take it all home!

this makes me giggle

I love these goofy faces that daddy
makes for the camera.
They always make me giggle.

And while we're at it,
let's just notice please how
stinkin cute my momma is...

family

So definitely one of the coolest things
about planning to marry the love of my life,
is the fact that I am gaining a whole new family!

I know that's sort of obvious,
but bear with me for a minute...

(my peoples that I love and cherish fiercely!)
so the concept of more family is pretty crazy.

But you know what?
It's the best kind of crazy.
Getting to know and love his wonderful family
is incredibly fun, and a total blessing to me.
After all, what could possibly be better than a whole
new group of people to love, complete with
all their traditions, jokes & personalities?

So basically, to boil down this rambling,
more family = coolness.

the fair is a fair...

We're going to the fair this weekend
with a bunch of our lovely
church peoples, and I'm so
looking forward to a fun fall day
with lots of food and farm animals!

stupid humor

So maybe you don't agree,
but I happen to think that reruns
of The Office are the best
thing ever to happen to tv.

Last night we were watching
the episode where Ed Truck dies
and Michael tries to make everyone
do group grief counseling,and
this quote is still making me giggle today:

"A few years ago, my family was on a
safari in Africa and my cousin, Mufasa,
was um, he was trampled to death by a pack
of wildebeasts and um, we all took it
really hard.  All of us in the audience,
of what happened."

hehe.

pretty baubles

 Thanks to sister,
I'm rocking this fabulous

Thanks, lovey -
it's so pretty and I
love it!!
