All Sons & Daughters

Will your grace run out
If I let you down
‘Cause all I know
Is how to run

‘Cause I am a sinner
If its not one thing its another
Caught up in words
Tangled in lies
You are the Savior
And you take brokenness aside
And make it beautiful
Beautiful

Will you call me child
When I tell you lies
Cause all I know
Is how to cry

I am a sinner
If its not one thing its another
Caught up in words
Tangled in lies
You are the Savior
And you take brokenness aside
And make it beautiful
Beautiful

You make it beautiful
You make it beautiful

I'm enjoying pretty much every
lovely tune by these guys lately...

love has name...

I saw this print on pinterest yesterday,
and immediately thought of a song that
I've been listening to a lot lately...

What do you think?
I just can't get over these lines:

I will never be the same,
love has called my name...

love has a voice,
love has a name,
Jesus, Jesus...

I switched out cds in my car

this gem of a song.  Wonderful.

5.  Vacation countdown.
We leave for warmer places in about
two weeks, and we're currently
obsessing about packing and
other fun things.  :)

a good stuff list

 1. PB&J.
It's not often, but sometimes the
old stand by hits the spot.  Today
was one of those days.  :)

2.  This article.
I love #4 and #7.
Such good reminders.

3. Chocolate Mud Facemasks.
Yep.  We were the cool kids who
smeared chocolate mud on their

it's the little things

Last night was one of those blissful,
quiet evenings that makes me love being
married to my best friend.

The hubs made us a fun dinner, then we
snuggled on the couch and watched Once
If you're into music, this movie is sort of
magical...we were both mesmerized!

Then we realized that the leads from
the movie have made several lovely
albums together as  The Swell Season
(Jackpot!)  The hubs had great fun
downloading his faves and playing along
on his guitar.  And as every girl knows,
sitting and listening to your man play
music is always amazing!

So to make a long story much shorter:
we had a quiet night which was happily
filled with good music.  My ability
to ramble even amazes me sometimes...

happy things

 1. Gorgeous day.
It's one of those clear, sunshiney
summer days that slyly hints of
the crisp fall to come.  Glorious!

2. Breakfast chats.
I got to start off my day by hanging
out with one of my lovelies.  I adore
our time together, and always come away
encouraged by her heart & friendship.

3. The hubs.
Doing life with my best friend is so
fun.  We've been enjoying our summer
evenings with lots of grilling, walking,
swimming...and ice cream, of course!

4. Cake stand cuteness.
us the most adorable cake stand as
a wedding present...and I'm so
excited to go home and frost a cake
tonight just so I can use it!

5. Worship music.
Thanks to the magic of Pandora,
I've been enjoying a great mix of tunes
at my desk.  On stressful or super
busy days, it makes all the difference
in my perspective and attitude!

Harbors

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time,
you might remember me talking about Joel & Janna
the lovely brother-sister duo from Maine.

I'm very excited to tell you about their new EP,
Harbors, which they released this week!
If you have a few minutes, go check out their website
and listen to the product of their hard work.
It's as wonderful as ever!

joel & janna

What is it about music?
Last night the handsome man & I
went to hear Joel & Janna - an amazing
brother-sister duo that we've been
loving ever since we saw them last year -
and it was really wonderful to see them again.

They were playing in our area for the
Less is More Tour, and it was a really lovely
evening of music with a quiet, contemplative
Christmas spirit.  Their rendition of Away in
a Manger was so beautiful that I found myself
flooded with sweet, unexpected memories -
and had to choke back tears.

It's always a blessing to see someone
chasing after God's heart & plans, and I am
very much looking forward to seeing what cool
things God has in store for their ministry in
the years to come!  If you aren't familiar with
them or their music, go look them up now
I'm sure you'll fall for them like we have.

as good as ever.

Have you heard the new Coldplay song?

It's for Christmas, which is fun!

I love these guys :)

an old favorite

I was feeling a little grumpy and out of sorts
this morning, and decided to try listening

My reasoning - either it could really
make me happy (it's finally December
and we're really getting into the season!)
or it could annoy me to no end and give
me a reason to keep being grumpy.
(sometimes it's just satisfying to find
reasons to keep being annoyed, right?)

Luckily for everyone I have to see today,
it had the first effect, and I found myself relaxing
into the familiar voices and melodies of this
old favorite. My family has listened to
this Christmas album since it first came out
on tape, and it's like hearing an old friend
when I put it on for the first time each year.

Welcome back, Christmas.
I'm happy to see you!

how he loves...

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all...

spoiled.

New favorite thing...
laying lazily on the couch
while the boy plays his guitar
and makes up silly songs.

Yes, life is good.

goodbye earl

I was recently reminded of this
song (thanks momma!)
and had a good laugh this morning
remembering how we used to
watch it and all giggle together.

Hope it makes you smile!

happy things list

1. This puppy.
I saw him on sister's blog
yesterday, and my heart
melted on the spot.

I am total mush right now,
just looking at his sweet face.

2. Motorcycle wedding picture.
Seriously, how lovely and awesome.
I think a bike could be the coolest
getaway vehicle ever.

More of their excellent pictures here.

3. Fabulous horse pictures.
I can't get enough equine images
lately, and am really longing for
some riding time.

Anyone know someone that
wants to let this little farm girl
get some horse time?

4. This awesome music video.
I was really digging Sugarland's newest
song when I heard it on the radio,
and just about died laughing
when I finally saw the video.

Plus I am getting SO excited
to see them in concert next month!

5. He comes home tomorrow.
Enough said.
I can hardly wait!

Happy Friday, friends.

besame mucho

Bésame, bésame mucho
Como si fuera esta noche
La última vez

Bésame, bésame mucho
Que tengo miedo a perderte
Perderte después

Bésame, bésame mucho
Como si fuera esta noche
La última vez

Bésame, bésame mucho
Que tengo miedo a perderte
Perderte después

Quiero tenerte muy cerca
Mirarme en tus ojos
Verte junto a mi
Piensa que tal vez mañana
Yo ya estaré lejos
Muy lejos de ti

Bésame, bésame mucho
Como si fuera esta noche
La última vez

Bésame, bésame mucho
Que tengo miedo a perderte
Perderte después

Bésame, bésame mucho
Que tengo miedo a perderte
Perderte después

Que tengo miedo a perderte
Perderte después

music makes it better

This makes me smile.

Even on days when I'm tired
and feeling ready for a long nap.

Oh, I'm sorry in advance
for
getting this stuck in your head...

small joys

Every once in a great while, I cave
and order something online.
(cheap prices at Amazon are
typically my downfall)

Earlier this week, I ordered
this album, and I'm
oh so happy that I did.

The cheerful and familiar songs
are so fun to sing along with,
and it makes me feel like a little
kid to happily remember all the times
we enjoyed these tunes as a family!

Thanks Momma & Daddy for
instilling such a love for
music in your girls -
life is so much better with a
cheerful soundtrack!
