wonderfully present

I'm loving this sweet, cheerful print.

The colors and design are perfectly springy,

but it's the text that just makes me feel

smiley.  (And not just because of Louis!)

Last night we went to a prayer & worship

night, and I was challenged to practice living 

more fully in the present - not to get so stuck

 on things past / fixated on future things.  

Sometimes it's tough to be challenged, but 

last night I felt really reminded about the joy 

God has for us here in the present. When we're 

able to live fully engaged lives, it's amazing how 

many wonderful things we start seeing around us.  

So today, I hope you can be fully present and 

see just what a wonderful world it is!

empowered love

 Do you ever just know God put something

in your path?  It might be a song, a book, a 

verse, a beautiful picture...but in that moment, 

something just clicks.  It's like that thing you've 

been rolling around in your head just crystallizes, 

and it's like God reached out and squeezed your 

hand, reassuring you that He's right there.

  I had one of those moments this morning 

when I picked up a book that the hubs & I 

have been slowly working through:  

"The Holy Spirit is the one who fills believers 

with God's love and the one who enables us 

to love one another.  Paul describes this

beautifully in his prayer to the Ephesians:

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may

strengthen you with power through his Spirit

in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell

in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you,

being rooted and established in love, may have

power, together with all the saints, to grasp

how wide and long and high and deep is the love

of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses

knowledge - that you may be filled to the 

measure of all the fullness of God.  (3:16-19)

May we know this love that surpasses 

knowledge - the mystery of this great love - 

by the strengthening power of the Spirit."

I've had this card saved as a favorite on

Etsy forever because it's pretty much

dead on.  There are definitely days when I

spend more time daydreaming about hubs

than doing the things I should be!

And yes, I know that's totally dorky

and lame.  I'm ok with it.  :)

 I am a total sucker for awesome papergoods.

Just like a good pair of shoes, I have a tough time

passing up sweet stationary, cute cards, and

pretty wrapping paper. And this shop - 

Red Letter Paper Company - definitely makes

me want to splurge.  Often.

 I love surprising the hubs with a sweet

note in his lunchbox, or sending a pretty 

card to a friend to say hello.

rainy day color

 We're having a couple of lovely,

rainy days in these parts.  Although

the sunshine is my favorite, sometimes 

a quiet rainy day just hits the spot.

I've been loving this series of prints

a tuesday list.

 A little happy list for this Tuesday!

 Mostly because my brain can't seem

to focus on anything for very long,

but don't tell anyone...

 

1.  We're officially into hours now.

This morning I figured out that we were

almost precisely 100 hours away 

from the wedding.  How fun is that!?

2.  I need to stop going to Target.

Yesterday I stopped in to pick up a few

little things, and walked away with a 

cute bathing suit & dress.  Ooops.

(I keep justifying that it's for the 

honeymoon, but still...yikes!)

3. I have incredible friends.

Yesterday this blog post popped into

my inbox.  (And made me cry....in a 

good way.)  I love this wonderful

girl so dearly, and am proud to 

call her my friend!

 

4.  Hey look...my wedding shoes!

I was browsing blogs today and stumbled 

on my wedding shoes.  Mine are a different 

color, but it still made my day!

5.  My sister is awesome.

Not only has she done our photos 

and invites (plus host a cool bridal shower 

for me), now she's helping me finish 

lots of last minute design & 

printing.  Amazing!

6.  This skirt wants to be in my closet.

Oh Etsy, you are such a trouble maker...

I think my heart skipped a beat when

I saw this Etsy listing.  Ok, I know that's 

super dramatic and silly, but come on.  

This skirt is amazingly beautiful, but let's

talk about how gorgeous this listing photo is.

The colors, the light, the composition...it's

all just so lovely, and kind of makes me 

want to spend money I don't have on

this skirt which I would never wear.  

Isn't being a girl great? :)

 After yesterday's grumpiness, I think

today would be a good day for 

some extra cuteness.  And I think

these little darlings fit the bill perfectly.

I am smitten with their wonderful little

expressive faces, and think that the richness

of the glazes would be really pretty in 

person...or in my house.  You know, with 

all my other miscellaneous clay objects.  

And if neither of these guys up above can win 

over your heart, I dare you to try to resist this 

dude.  It's a hippo, people!  Practically impossible

not to fall in love with his funny little blue self.
