hope

Although it's barely above zero degrees

here this morning, I was pleasantly

surprised to hear a couple of birds singing

back and forth to each other outside of

my window.  For a brief second, it was

heavenly to close my eyes and pretend that

spring is here.  The cheerful sound was

the perfect reminder that the cold 

of winter won't last forever, and that

spring is still coming!  Just a little bit of

hope for a Wednesday morning.  :)

It's official - I am tired of winter, and

I'm feeling grumpy about having to drive 

in the mess.  I can do it - but being 

capable doesn't mean I have to like it. 

(Disclaimer - today was the third trip 

this week I had to make for work in totally 

crummy weather, so my level of

grumpiness is very high at the moment.

Don't worry - it will pass soon.)

I hope it's not snowing where you are.

I saw this picture this morning

and now I want to look exactly

like this every time I step out of 

the house.  But alas, I can't 

pull off those hats!

This is what our drive back from

Maine looked like last week.

The frosty, muted colors were so

striking that even in my half awake

state I knew I should snap a 

few pictures.  I'm not always the

biggest fan of the cold and snow,

but I am happy to recognize

just how beautiful it is!

It's going to snow here today, so I'm choosing to dream about the beach, rather than focus on the cold, white stuff.

I don't know about where you are, but it's cold here.

And thank goodness it's Friday, or there's no way I would want to do anything but curl up on the couch with another cup of coffee.

Ok, so that's totally all I want to do, but since it's Friday, I'm going to bundle up and trundle off to work, thankful that I have a job to go to...

making up excuses...

Lately, I seem to be noticing red shoes everywhere.

Maybe it's just that I'm craving color (oh winter...we are not friends) or perhaps powers greater than myself are telling me to buy red shoes...
