the one fish...

Doesn't this quotation capture something that every woman feels at her core?

I think that our longing to be recognized as unique and special, not to mention chosen above all others is so essential to how God wired us to be loved...to be someone's beloved. I think that every woman, no matter how tough or independent, desires to be romanced on some level.

And yet, until we recognize that we must first be wooed by Christ, I don't think we can fully experience the type of love that God has for us to share with any man. After all, my heart was created by Him, so it makes sense that He would have the best plan for how to love it.

Maybe it's selfish, but I want the best love possible when God brings me the one...don't you? And if that means I allow Him to fully capture my heart now, I want to give that all the energy that I can.

What do you think?

  1. It's completely true that God first wants us to love Him before loving others. I want God's best for me too and if that means not meeting my future husband right away, then I will accept that. God is my love and He loves me unconditionally.

    In Christ,

  2. It's so true! And when you're wrapped up in God's love, you can more easily trust His perfect timing and provision for you. I've seen too many Christian women settle for less than God's best. I know I was tempted and thank God I held out for the real thing.
