cuteness alert

I just couldn't help myself...
these photos are just too
stinkin' cute not to be shared!

comfortable

This picture makes my heart so happy.
It feels so familiar and comfortable,
and somehow like the world is just
a little better knowing that other
person is there with you...

magic

Isn't this image magical?

had to say about it was
pretty lovely too, if you like
that sort of thing...

tools

I am crazy for this picture. It makes
me think of Daddy and hard work and all
the jobs we did together as a family.

I also love the dim and dusty feeling of the
space.  You can almost put yourself at
that gritty workbench, which I really enjoy.

It's so interesting to me how our ideas
of beauty are so shaped by what
holds memories for us. What images
always reach out and grab you?

pretty food

I'm feeling more than a little smitten with
these gorgeous food shots...

I can't decide if I want to devour
everything pictured, rush to the kitchen
and start cooking up a storm, or go
grab my camera to start photographing
everything in sight!

the day after...

It's no secret that I'm currently obsessing
over all things wedding related,
but I have to confess that I've been holding
onto these images for much longer than
I've been planning a wedding.

This gorgeous couple
(who got married in Anguilla!)
to do a relaxed, beach shoot of them
on the day after the wedding.
Genius, right?

I love these pictures.
They are beautiful, so happy,
and make me so excited to
get married already!

Go take a peek at the
rest of them here...

welcome, friday.

This picture makes my heart happy - especially on a grey morning like this one. The colors are so luscious, and I think the perspective, atmosphere, and lovely bokeh action make for a really wonderful image. (Am I weird for loving a random picture so much, or are there others out there like me?)

It's been a busy couple of weeks around these parts, and I'm very much looking forward to a mellow Saturday...once I conquer Friday. (Lots to do at work, plus an opening tonight which makes for a pretty long day.)

Hope your day is happy, lovelies!

happy friday!

This is another one of the animal photos that I've been sitting on for a while and can't seem to come up with a reason to post. So I figured that on this day when I'm at home with the family, still digesting all that turkey & pie, I would show off his sweet face. Just because I can.

Today Sister and I plan to go take artsy photos up at our old family property for her thesis project, and she's asked me to be her model. While that's weird and I feel completely unqualified, I'm all about it...so I'll report later how my first modeling experiment goes!

Hope your Friday is filled with lots of leftovers and joy!

color!

For a rainy day such as today, I thought a little splash of color would be nice!

Here's hoping that your day isn't at all dreary...

some pretty for your day...

I have been smitten with these gorgeous interior photos ever since Desire to Inspire featured them a few months ago.

They are a tiny slice of the work of Helen Norman, a very talented photographer who shoots a variety of subject matter.

And yes, not going to lie, these blue cabinets really threw me for a loop the first time I looked through her portfolio.

Now I love them.

(Sorry, Mom. I can hear you in my head saying how dated they will look in just a few years, but right now I think they are really pretty.)

Check out the rest of her portfolio - there are hundreds more beautiful images.

And lots of inspiration - both for the photographers and designers among us.
